Spinning Planet

Examine how the dynamic systems of the Earth, Solar System and Universe impact upon living things

Night and day See the earth spinning day after day. Can you see what's happening in the outback when it's sunrise in Brisbane?

Earth in a spin Have you ever seen Earth move before your very eyes? It does, and we've got this giant pendulum to prove it.

Pendulum at the pole Imagine you are at the South Pole lying back looking up at a giant pendulum in the sky. What do you think you would notice? You have to see it, to believe it!

Spin and curve Play with water. Put it into a spin just like the Earth does all day, every day. What do you think happens?

Planets in a whirl See the patterns of the planets. Press the button and watch them go!

Water world

Explore the forces that forces effect seasons, climate, weather and tides. Become a hero by saving water!

Continents on the move Make continents go back and forth in time. Float them from where they were 135 million years ago to where they are now. Find out why the Earth is always on the move.

Inside the earth Pull the Earth apart. What's under its crust?

Air Matters

Test the various effects of air pressure and see how air conducts electricity.

Floating ball Play with the ball (gently!). Find out why it spends a lot of its time floating in a special place.

Mountain air Air puts us under a lot of pressure. Play a push - guess - check game to see where we're under the most pressure, and the least.

As light as air? Can you imagine just how light, or heavy, air really is? Try the guess - test - check game and find out.

Falling feathers Ready, feather, drop! Compare how feathers fall through air and through a vacuum.

Lift and fly! Test wings and things. What stays up... and what comes down?

Raise the roof Guess and test what will happen to a roof in an enormous storm. Which side will go first? Does it matter which way the roof and storm face each other?
