Privacy Statement

The Queensland Museum is committed to the protection of personal information collected though its website. This statement discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this site.

Security

If you are submitting personal details, credit card numbers, or other information over the internet which you wish to remain private we will make all attempts to secure information transmitted to this site. There is still a possibility that information you submit could be observed by a third party while in transit.

Email addresses

This is a Queensland Government website. Email correspondence sent to this site will be treated as a public record and will be retained as required by the Libraries and Archives Act 1988 and other relevant regulations.

We will only record your email address if you send us a message. It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it. Unless you ask us to, we will not include your email address in a mailing list. We will not use your email address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it, without your consent unless required by law.

Cookies

A cookie is an electronic token that is passed to your browser. Your browser passes it back to the server whenever a page is sent to you. Our server may generate a cookie that is used to keep track of the pages you have accessed while using our server. We do not use cookies to collect personal information. Use of personal information and web usage

When you look at this web site, our server makes a record in its log. It can log the following: your IP address, the time and date of visit to the site, pages accessed, documents downloaded, search terms entered, the referring site and the type of agent (browser) used.
