In terms of variety and sheer abundance, the Brisbane region is a haven for reptiles. Our subtropical climate, lush vegetation and even the structure of the city itself offer rich habitats for a wealth of reptile species. There are pythons in our roofs, water dragons along our creeks and rivers and even brown snakes on the city edges. And the call of the invasive Asian House Gecko has become a familiar background noise throughout Queensland’s towns and cities. This workshop offers pointers in identification and sheds light on the secret lives of the fascinating creatures that share our environment.

This workshop will include:

  • Biology and behaviour.
  • Identification using physical characters and biology.

Presenters:
Steve Wilson and Kieran Aland are are Information Officers with the Queensland Museum Inquiry Centre. They are passionate about reptiles and educating the public about these misunderstood creatures. Steve is the author of several reptile books including identification guides and a children’s book.
