QPAC's Out of the Box Festival for 3 to 8 year olds at the Cultural Centre

10 – 15 June 2008

With six days of exciting performances, hands-on workshops and free events, Out of the Box is Australia's leading arts and cultural festival for 3 to 8 year olds. This year, Out of the Box will be held across the entire Cultural Centre, including Queensland Museum South Bank.

Critters

What does it eat? Where does it live? How does it move?
This hands-on workshop will draw out the inner scientist in every child as they contemplate the many different features of animals, and learn how these features give us clues to stories about that animal. Children will explore real animal specimens, create their own unique animal out of recycled materials, and share their animal's special story.

Age Suitability: 3–8 year olds
Dates/Times: Tuesday–Friday at 9:45am, 11:15am & 1:00pm. Saturday & Sunday at 9:45, 11:30am & 1:30pm.
Venue: Theatre, Queensland Museum South Bank
Duration: 1 hour
Costs: $16 Admission (inc. fees). $14 Admission + $10 transaction fee (School Groups).

Dinosaur & Big Things Trail

Children might be small, but they love BIG THINGS, especially dinosaurs! This self-guided trail will lead children on a journey of discovery throughout the Museum as they find answers to their BIG questions.

Age Suitability: 3–8 year olds
Dates/Times: Open 7 days from 9:30am–5:00pm.
Venue: Queensland Museum South Bank. Trails available on Level 2.
Costs: Free. Bookings essential for all groups of 10 +
Minimum Numbers: No minimum. Recommend working in groups of 5-10.
Duration: Free choice. Recommend 45 min – 1 hour to explore the Museum.
