Forceps Butterflyfish

Forciper flavissimus

Butterflyfish are amongst the most beautiful creatures to be found on coral reefs. Some eat coral polyps, but this one has developed a long snout to reach far down into crevices, and between the coral branches, to eat small crustaceans, worms and molluscs. It can grow to 22 cm in length.

Common throughout the Indian and West Pacific Oceans.
