Features

Flattened swimming legs, eyes on long stalks; rich dark red. To about 100 mm across.

Notes

Over sandy-mud and weed bottoms, occasionally taken in pots and bait nets, shallow subtidal zone to 20 m depth. Northern Australia from Exmouth Gulf, WA, to Moreton Bay; Indo-West Pacific from Red Sea to Japan and Hawaii.
