Drawings from Goodna State School

Queensland Museum’s Collectors Cafe will showcase 17 artworks created by the students of Goodna State School just weeks after the devastating floods of 2011.

The children, aged from 8 to 12, worked with an art therapist to help express their thoughts and feelings through art. The idea that something beautiful and moving can be created even out of such immense disaster is incredibly powerful and inspiring. The work will be on display until 15 July.

Once the works have been displayed, they will be accessioned to the collection of the State Library of Queensland.

The exhibition is supported by Fuji Xerox.
