A spiritualist, mystic, historian and lifelong collector of antiquities, John Ward (1885-1949) embodied the cultural turmoil of an age of collapsing empires, religious fragmentation and world war. His quirky, personal, and immensely valuable collection is displayed at the Abbey Museum, Caboolture. In this talk, Ward's biographer shares the history of this fascinating man and how his quirky and surprising museum collection came to Queensland.
